Brighton Midsummer Fencing Festival 2026 – Equipment and insurance policy

Participants are responsible for arranging their own insurance and equipment for this event. By attending, you confirm that you will bring appropriate insurance and equipment for the activities you intend to take part in. 

Insurance is required for participation in fencing and related martial arts activities. Attendees travelling from overseas are responsible for ensuring their insurance is valid in the United Kingdom and cover the activities undertaken at the event. 

All equipment must be in safe, serviceable condition. Please inspect your equipment before travelling to the event and after each day’s activities. This includes ensuring clothing and kit is fit for purpose and free from defects that present a risk to yourself or others. 

Participants who safe with equipment deemed unsafe by the organisers may be asked to not take part in certain activities until suitable replacements are available.  

The organisers will not provide personal protective kit but will have a limited number of loaner swords for certain classes. These will be available on a first come first served basis and need to be returned at the end of each class. Participants are responsible for the safety and condition of borrowed items.
