The Brighton Midsummer Fencing Festival – 2026 CANCELLED

It is with great sadness that the Sussex Sword Academy (SSA) has to announce the cancellation of the proposed Brighton Midsummer Fencing Festival 2026.

We were progressing well with the event but unfortunately our venue cancelled our booking with very short notice and despite significant time and effort we have not been able to find an alternative that we are confident will meet the requirements that we had and have for such an event.

Most importantly the attendees needed to be able to arrange their accommodation and transport and further delays whilst finding a new venue were just going to make that harder. As such we have decided that fair thing to do is make the decision to cancel the event for 2026 and start the planning for 2027, when it will coincidentally be the SSA’s 30th anniversary.

Please do understand that we are desperately sad to do this but it feels like the right thing to do.

We do hope that you’ll be able to come to the event in 2027, with a venue that doesn’t cancel and a city that we are still desperate to introduce you to.
