Brighton Midsummer Fencing Festival 2026 – Refund & cancellation policy

Updated on: 9 Feb 2026

1. Attendee cancellations

If you are unable to attend, you may request a refund subject to the following conditions:

  • Refunds are available up to 28 days before the start of the event
  • Refunds will be issued for the ticket price minus any non-recoverable transaction or payment processing fees
  • No refunds will be issued within 28 days of the event start date, except at the organiser’s discretion

Refund requests must be made in writing to the event contact email and must include the purchaser’s name and booking details

treasurer@sussexswordacademy.org

2. Ticket transfers

Tickets may be transferred to another participant with prior notice to the organiser

Transfers must be requested before the event and include the full details of the replacement attendee

The organiser reserves the right to refuse transfers that would breach safety, insurance, or eligibility requirements

3. Event cancellation by the organiser

In the unlikely event that the organiser cancels the event:

  • Attendees will be offered a full refund of the ticket price paid
  • Payment processing fees charged by third-party providers may be non-refundable where these cannot be recovered by the organiser
  • The organiser will not be liable for any additional costs incurred by attendees, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, or subsistence expenses

4. Programme changes

The organiser reserves the right to make reasonable changs to the event programme, including instructors, timetable, or content, where necessary. Such changes do not automatically entitle attendees to a refund.

5. Force majeure

The organiser is not responsible for cancellations, non-attendance, or inability to travel caused by circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, injury, travel disruption, extreme weather, visa issues, or government restrictions.

In such cases, refunds will be considered at the organiser’s discretion but are not guaranteed.

6. Meal tickets and dietary requirements

Meal tickets are subject to catering commitments and may have an earlier cut-off date, which will be communicated where applicable.

Dietary requirements must be provided ahead of the event and the organiser will communicate this separately. The organiser cannot guarantee accommodation of late or undisclosed requirements.

7. Contact

All refund, cancellation, or transfer requests should be sent to treasurer@sussexswordacademy.org
